When a strange, meteorlike object from outer space crashes into Tom Swift's advanced scientific installa- tion, Swift Enterprises, the intrepid young inventor is plunged into an astonishing adventure.
    The object proves to be a message-bearing missile from scien- tists of another world who are seeking contact with our earth. But as Tom struggles to decipher their message, he is called to assist the South American nation of Monta- guaya, a government beseiged by ruthless rebels and secret traitors seeking control of the country's uranium wealth by violent means.
