TOM SWIFT AND HIS
ELECTRONIC RETROSCOPE
by VICTOR APPLETON II
Enraged jaguars, violent winds of hurricane force, and a mysterious cave-man who roams the jungle around the Mayan village in Yuca- tan where Tom Swift is encamped are only a few of the
perils the young inventor encounters during his thrilling new expedition.
But even more feared by Tom and his friends is a band of phantom bandits,
intent on using deadly means to force them to abandon their project as Tom
tests his latest inventions: his “parachute” plane and his electronic retroscope camera (magic to the natives!) with which he
restores, photographically, faint carvings on relics of the past.
Tom is astounded by the hints he finds in the ancient
symbols. Is it possible that beings from another planet actually landed in
Yucatan ages ago? The answer lies deep in the darkness of a buried tomb,
where Tom and his pal Bud are trapped by a merciless enemy!
