TOM SWIFT AND HIS
THOUGHTOGRAPH IMAGER
by VICTOR APPLETON II
A field test of Tom Swift's remar- kable new invention, a
camera able to reproduce the imagery of the mind's eye, turns tragic when the thoughto- graph erases the memory of his close friend Bashalli. Before a remedy can be found, Tom is recruited for a desperate interna- tional
operation aimed at countering nuclear blackmail and the threat of mass
destruction. The key to the mission is to use the imager to scan the mind of an orphaned boy who
may have witnessed top-secret infor- mation vital to defeating the insidious
threat. The quest takes Tom and his pal Bud to the East Europe
nation of Brungaria, where Tom defies a my- sterious warning and braves hidden
attackers in the employ of a cunning, ruthless dictator. A sniper attack, a
mind-reading session with a dead man, and a mountain avalanche are only the
prelude to the young inven- tor's climactic confrontation with his foe, as a
nuclear nightmare hangs in the balance!
